El Puerto de Santa María Gears Up for Luxury: CIDON Leads the Design and Fit-Out of the New Punta Bermeja Hotel

CIDON Interior Design & Contract has been selected by Grupo Zapata to develop the full interior design and equipment package for the new Punta Bermeja Hotel in El Puerto de Santa María. With just two months to go before its opening, this newly built property is set to become the next premium hospitality landmark in the Bay of Cádiz.

With a significant investment in interior design and FF&E, the hotel will feature 172 rooms and expansive common areas conceived under an elegant, bright, and deeply Mediterranean-inspired design concept. The project is located on an 18,810-square-metre seafront plot.

A Standout Project in the Bay

Set on one of the most admired beaches in El Puerto de Santa María, Punta Bermeja Hotel is poised to become an architectural and design reference point on the Costa de la Luz. CIDON has taken charge of the interior design project and is leading the FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) procurement and implementation.

This newly constructed hotel reflects Grupo Zapata’s commitment to excellence in hospitality, offering visitors a unique experience in a privileged setting. Punta Bermeja’s contemporary design seeks to harmonise the natural beauty of the bay with modern, welcoming interiors that balance functionality with refined elegance.

Interior Design with a Sense of Place

The interior proposal for Punta Bermeja reinterprets the essence of Cádiz through a contemporary lens. CIDON’s design concept combines light, serenity, and Mediterranean craftsmanship, evoking the coastal atmosphere of El Puerto de Santa María.

The hotel’s landscaping has been developed by Rocío Sainz de Rozas Studio, based in Seville. Their approach draws on the coastal landscape of El Puerto de Santa María with a Mediterranean sensitivity that incorporates native vegetation, natural materials, and warm textures. The landscape architecture aims to merge the outdoor spaces with the luminous character of the south, integrating species such as Trachelospermum jasminoides and paving made from Portuguese cobblestone and handcrafted terracotta. The result is a serene and welcoming environment where each pathway evokes the soul of the place and reinforces the continuity between architecture, interiors, and nature.

The interior design is built on a central idea: to create an elegant, natural retreat where guests can experience the calm of the sea and the authenticity of southern Spain through noble materials, soft textures, and a colour palette inspired by the bay—warm whites, sand tones, stone finishes, and hints of greens and earthy reds. The design honours the luminous spirit of the south, blending Mediterranean elegance, contemporary simplicity, and local authenticity to create a destination as warm as the land it belongs to.

The design team — Alba Vila, Rocío Narváez, and Victoria Liquiniano — has led this vision with deep sensitivity to the environment and the character of the Andalusian coast.

In addition to developing the interior design project, CIDON assumes the role of strategic partner, adding value by integrating design, customisation, and efficient project management. The team coordinates suppliers from Spain and abroad, ensuring that every element meets the highest standards of quality and functionality.

From logistics to installation, CIDON’s approach guarantees a unique, tailor-made result aligned with the exclusivity that defines this landmark project in the Bay of Cádiz.
